Sound of Science Workshop
Investigating Sound for Foundation Stage and KS1
This fun hands-on workshop investigates how we make and hear
sounds. It compliments Science Unit 1F "Sounds and Hearing". The
workshop is for up to 30 children and lasts for about an hour.
Each session includes a range of activities which focus on the following:
- Making sounds and thinking about how we hear
- Making loud and quiet sounds
- Investigating pitch
- Seeing and feeling sound vibrations and thinking about how sound travels
- Making a musical instrument to take home

A certificate will be given to each participant and ideas for follow-on activities will be provided for teaching staff. |
