Pirates in the Classroom
A fun workshop for Key Stage One or Two
Using a pirate theme, students take part in a range of exciting activities
which practise and develop mathematical and problem solving skills. Please
note for a number of these activities, children must be able to read and write.
We can extend this workshop for a whole themed day, please contact us for further details.
The workshop is designed for 30 children but can accommodate up to 45 in one session. Sessions last for around 2.5 hours.
During the workshop you can expect some of the following:
- Using maps to follow clues and find the treasure.
- Use of co-ordinates and symbols.
- Deciphering and developing their own secret messages.
- Make a pirate hat! (You may wish your students to dress up for the day)
- Activities to encourage team work and build confidence.
We provide a certificate for each participant and activity ideas which continue the theme of the workshop for teaching staff. |
