What
does create a future do?
We deliver a wide choice of programmes for schools, starting at Nursery and Reception
level, progressing through to Post 16 education, Higher and Further Education,
work based training and employment programmes.
In an average year we work with 420 schools, 120 companies and 50,000 young
people. Create a future operated SETPOINT Mercia in Birmingham,
Solihull and the Black Country from 2000 to 2008.
SETPOINT Mercia was part of the national SETPOINT Network, franchised by STEMNET
and funded by the DTI, which encourages the growth of interest in Science, Technology,
Engineering and Maths.
Our portfolio of programmes includes activities that
- enhance teaching and learning by
targeting specific curriculum areas;
providing teacher CPD;
offering a range of activities that develop thinking skills;
- inspire learners in
Discovery Days for Nursery and KS1/2 learners;
Challenge Days for KS3/4 and post 16 learners;
“After School” and extra curricula clubs and activities;
- recognise achievement through
a wider Key Skills (levels 1-3) programme through OCR
BA CREST Awards, BA Science Communicators; BA CREST Star Investigators
ASDAN awards – Certificate of Personal Effectiveness; Short Courses;
Volunteering;
- promote creativity through
a range of programmes that explore learning, develop skills, enhance financial
literacy
- develop skills specifically in
enterprise and entrepreneurial skills;
STEM
- provide information particularly in relation to
STEM related careers
